a walk in the park

so yesterday i decided that it was a nice enough day to go for a walk. it was cold and it was windy, but i wanted to swing! Do you know how hard it is to find swings in this neighbourhood? we went to three different parks and found some interesting things to play on. There was hopscotch and slides and monkey bars and the slidey thing in the picture and bouncy things to stand on. But no swings. So my mission for today...to find swings. There are swings at McGill park, but we will only be going there on the way to mom and dad's and I feel as though I will not be in a park playing outfit by that time. maybe kirkbridge after church tonight!! Anyone else know of any swings??

Easter Long Weekend

Happy Easter to all! Today is Good Friday...essentially means that all we do is sit around cause there is absolutely nothing open! Got up and went to Church this morning. There was a lack of attendence by 2 members of the family...you know who you are ;). It was a quick service and I spent most of the time making faces at baby Madalyn. I didn't get to hold her for very long though, she started to fuss as soon as I got a hold of her and then i gave her back to mom who in turn gave her back to Claire. Good thing Madalyn's got a great mom who knows how to calm her down!

I had kind of a rough week as I got my third bout of bad news...I'm glad the third finally hit me cause now for the rest of the year it's only going to be good stuff happening! Anyways, the bad news was about my old boss, Dr. Ahsan, he unfortunately has been struck by cancer and has been told he won't be with us too much longer. It's very sad, he is such a kind hearted man and was always very good to me. It's too bad that he will not get to enjoy retirement as most do.

Tiff and I made a brunch type meal today. it included wifesaver, which i'm sure you're all jealous you didn't get to enjoy with us!! Mom's not doing an Easter breakfast this year, so we were sad there would be no wifesaver and decided to celebrate ourselves. Maybe if you're nice, I'll invite you over another time for some, it is my specialty!

As for the rest of the weekend, we're going to drink lots of coffee and do lots of spring cleaning and sing in church tomorrow night and eat lots of easter dinners. 2 to be exact. I'm a lucky girl to be surround by so many loved ones! you don't think of it everyday, but around holidays I consider myself very lucky to have a great family to spend the time with!!

No, It's definately warm enough to use the balconey

Well, as shown in the photo from my last post, I shoveled off the balconey, getting it ready for spring use. Tiffany and decided last night that it would be the perfect time (if we dressed for the weather) to start using it. Our wicker from last year is still in the storage closet, so we decided to move the swivel chairs from the living room outside and bring out our blankets and play some cards. Unfortunately, it was a little bit windy, so we didn't really get to play cards, and now i have a deck that is short a five of hearts...but we ended up sitting out there and chatting for a good hour! Let me tell you, it may have been chilly, but those chairs were wonderfully comfortable and in all honesty, I probably could have fallen asleep. We are bound and determined to get as much use out of the balconey this year as humanly possible, even if it means starting now!!

Went off to church last night as well. Didn't enjoy the music as much as I normally do, but it's lent...so what do you expect? Father John did the Homily and it was captivating. The gospel was the one where Jesus tells all the people that the first who can judge the adulterous (sp?) is the one among them who has not sinned. Great gospel and so funny because for the last week Tiff and I had been discusing people who judge and Tiffany had said that God will be the one to judge her and I was all wow, that's brilliant and then that's basically what Father John was saying. Anyways, the moral of the story is that usually I go to church and listen intently but i'm never really spoken to...yesterday I completely understood!

birthday sniffles

Half hour until i'm 23...and all i can think is that i wish i could breathe. I picked up the sniffles. I'm not sick, i feel fine, great even, unless you count not being able to breathe or smell as not well. I hate that feeling when you try to go to bed and you're a little bit stuffed up and the minute you lay down you get completely clogged and can't breathe. I'm scared to go to bed cause that's how it's going to feel. oh well, i have to sleep sometime...right?

So other than being a little stuffed up, I'm quite looking forward to my birthday. I'll work all day and then go out for dinner with Jennifer! After that, come home and put my feet up, probably watch the American idol results. Should be a nice, normal, relaxing day. Not that any day at my office is normal or relaxing, but i'm gonna force everyone to be nice, just for me!

Had dinner at my parents house on Sunday...mmmm ribs! so good. Thank you daddy for making my favourite meal again this year! and Mom for making "better than sex" cake! And thanks to everyone for getting me my dishwasher. I love it already. I think i've finally got it all figured out and washing dishes. It's absolutley the best gift ever...which is how i know that i'm getting old! Chris and Claire and Madalyn, thank you so much for the card with the pictures. I love the new one of Maddy on her blanket with her matching outfit, I put it up at work!!

Saturday night was the Christina Aguilera concert. We had a great time. Christina was amazing. Took me right back to junior high, although now I understand way more of her lyrics and can't imagine how mothers take their young daughters to these concerts...quite inappropriate!

Got me some tickets to Tim and Faith as well! June 22 BABY!!! I don't know how i will wait that long...but i'm sure they will make it well worth the wait. I'm also going to see the Producers next weekend with Tiffany as my birthday gift. I'm super excited about that too. she even kept it a secret until just the other day, which is hard when you live with someone!

still looking for new jobs, so if everyone could keep your ears open it would be much appreciated!!

hey y'all

so I know, I suck, it's been awhile...again. but i've been seriously busy. you know, going to bed at 9 pm takes a lot of time! plus i've apparently gotten seriously involved with the church choir. Michelle and I are singing together at the easter mass, yep that's right, solo type thing. ahh. Michelle is the only person EVER who could have talked me into that! geez. :)

so really, not much has been happening around here. I've bought like 13 coffees with this roll up the rim thing and i think that the whole thing is a hoax. i have yet to win anything, same with tiffany, one in six my butt. apparently someone won $1000 at the tims next to the apartment though, it wasn't me :(. plus the winner of that millionaire for life thing was in Manitoba...that wasn't me either :(. boo.

Really guys, there is absolutely nothign new going on in my life. the most exciting thing to happen to me lately was the purchasing of new sheets. They are bright orange!!! and jersey! so as soon as something fun happens i'll let you know!
